Two worlds II will make sure that the first word out of your mouth when you start playing is “Wow.” It will make sure the last word out of your mouth when you stop playing is “WoW.” Unfortunately it will however have also made sure that both of those are in a different tone and context.
Two Worlds II will instantly hit you as looking beautiful, and the world does. PhysX, water, lighting and high quality textures all aid in making the world look stunning. Unfortunately the saying ‘Polish a turd’ springs to mind. Some of the models leave a little to be desired and when you hear them talk, they leave more than a little to be desired. The voice acting is atrocious, only being beaten in the award for shoddy voicing by the prequel. The game also suffers from side-quest syndrome, sending you off on so many random pointless tasks that you forget just exactly why you’re doing them and how this helps you rescue your sister exactly.
If you can stomach the bad voicing, the low quality player texture and the abysmal one liners you give when assassinating someone, then you might enjoy your journey through the game, you might find out that at its core, the game functions and has an enjoyable story. The story that you see at the beginning is solid and does seem interesting, the world it’s in seems beautiful and full of interest, but things you must endure to enjoy such beauty are the true test.
